Kooskia
(pronounced koos-kee)

Kooskia is nestled in the Clearwater River canyon at the confluence of the Southfork and the Middlefork of the Clearwater River. The town name is a contraction of the Kooskooskia, meaning "where the waters meet", that appears in the journals of Lewis and Clark in 1805 to designate the river now named the Clearwater River. Kooskia Days, held the last weekend in July, is an event for the whole family-from the kick off parade in the morning to a Street Dance in the evening. Three days of family fun!
