*The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude is one of the oldest continuously operating museums in the Inland Northwest, having been in existence for over 70 years. The collection represents the settlement of Idaho including the Nez Perce influence; the Lewis and Clark connection; the mining, ranching, farming, and logging eras; and the history of the Sisters of the Monastery of St. Gertrude. Nezperce is full of history and Native American culture, It is the Lewis County Seat and sits in the middle of the Nezperce Prairie. The land surrounding Nezperce was once the summer camping grounds for the Nez Perce people. The Seven Tepees can be seen from the top of the Nezperce Grade. These hills hold religious significance to the Nez Perce Tribe. Craigmont is named after Colonel William Craig, Idaho's first permanent white settler. *The Station, Craigmont A large replica of a Winchester rifle hangs above Main Street as a reminder of how this town got its name.
